Next Wednesday I will have the pleasure of seeing, once again, the brilliant, touching, and incredibly physical performance of Benedict Cumberbatch in the role of the creature in Danny Boyle’s production of Frankenstein. On Thursday I will see (for the first time) Johnny Lee Miller in the monster’s role and Benedict as Victor Frankenstein. I am thrilled and excited. I am bring many friends.
I’ve seen a lot of theater in my day, including on Broadway and in London, but I have never seen a more wrenchingly committed performance as I did when I saw Benedict as the poor creature. He and his co-star deserved every accolade they received.
I am so grateful to the National Theatre for scheduling these repeat HD showings all over the world. If you have yet to see it, PLEASE find a way.  It is Brilliant stuff. You will be moved and haunted. Enjoy.
